Turn on Scripture pop-ups

When your text names a Bible reference, like John 3:16 or Romans 5:8, a visitor can tap it to read the passage without leaving the page. Pop-ups are on when your site starts. You choose the Bible version.

  1. In the panel on the left, under Your account, click Site settings.
  2. Switch Show Scripture pop-ups on.
  3. Choose the Bible version: World English Bible (WEB), King James Version (KJV) or American Standard Version (ASV).
  4. Click Save.
  5. Click Publish. See Publish your site.

All three versions are in the public domain, so your site can quote them freely.

To turn pop-ups off, switch Show Scripture pop-ups off, click Save, and publish. Your references then stay plain text.

A reference works anywhere you type words: on any page, and in a sermon or class Description. Type the book, the chapter and the verse, like John 3:16. A book and chapter alone, like John 3, is not marked.

On your live site, a reference is underlined with dots. While you edit, references look like plain text. To try one, click Preview in the top bar. On a phone, tap Tools, then Preview. See Preview your site.
