Delete or restore a page
Deleting a page takes it out of your site and your menus. It is not gone for good: it waits under Deleted pages, and you can restore it with everything on it.
Delete a page
Section titled “Delete a page”- In the panel on the left, under Pages, point to the page. A gear appears beside it.
- Click the gear. Page settings opens.
- Click Delete page.
- The builder asks “Delete this page?” Click Delete page again.
- Click Publish to take it off your live site. See Publish your site.
If the page was on your live site, its address now forwards to your homepage. A deleted Terms & Conditions or Accessibility page forwards to your other page of that kind, if you have one.
You cannot delete your homepage. Its Page settings has no Delete page button. To delete it, first make a different page your homepage. See Help a page show up on Google.
Restore a page
Section titled “Restore a page”- In the panel on the left, under Pages, click Deleted pages. The number beside it is how many pages are there.
- Click Restore beside the page.
- The page comes back as a DRAFT. Open its Page settings, switch Page published on, and click Save.
- Click Publish.
A restored page is not put back in your menus. See Change your menus.
Deleted pages shows in the panel only when you have deleted a page.
On a phone
Section titled “On a phone”Tap » to open the pages panel. The gear shows beside every page without pointing.
If it does not work
Section titled “If it does not work”- “Your Privacy Policy page was deleted.”: Publish stops until it is back. Click Restore the Privacy Policy in the Publish window. See Fix what stops a publish.
- “Pages you turned off are still linked from the menus or the footer …”: A button or link still points to the page. Change that link, or restore the page. See Change a button or link.
- The restored page has a different address: Another page took its address while it was deleted. Change its Slug in Page settings. See Rename a page or change its address.
