Add a banner across the top
The announcement banner is a slim ribbon across the top of every page of your site. Most churches use it for a gospel meeting or VBS. It is off until you switch it on.
- In the panel on the left, under Your website, click Announcement banner.
- Switch Show the banner on.
- Type your news in Banner text, like Gospel meeting, May 4 to 7. Everyone is welcome.
- Type the words for the link in Link text. If you leave it blank, it says Learn more.
- Choose a page in Links to (published pages). Or type a web address in Or a web address.
- If you used a web address and want it to open in a new tab, switch Open link in a new tab on.
- Leave Sticky (stays while scrolling) on to keep the banner in view as visitors scroll. Switch it off to let it scroll away.
- Click Save.
- Click Publish. See Publish your site.
While the banner is on, Announcement banner shows ON in the panel.
Links to (published pages) lists only pages that are on. To link to a VBS or gospel meeting page, turn that page on first. See Link the banner to your event page.
