Find your way around the builder

The builder has three parts. The top bar holds the buttons you use all the time. The panel on the left lists your pages and settings. The big area in the middle is your page, and you edit it right there.

From left to right:

  • Undo, Redo and History take back recent changes. See Undo a change.
  • The save state tells you where your work is. Saving… means a change is on its way to our servers. Saved means it is there. You do not need to do anything.
  • Save saves right away. You rarely need it, because the builder saves a moment after each change.
  • Preview shows your draft the way a visitor sees it. The three buttons beside it switch between Desktop, Tablet and Mobile sizes. See Preview your site.
  • The button with three circles is Colors. See Change your colors.
  • Publish puts your changes on your live site. See Publish your site.
  • The question mark is Help.
  • The round button with your first letter, or your photo, is your account. It opens Account, People, Billing & plan and Sign out. If you are not signed in, you see Sign in instead.

The panel is called Your site. Click « at its top to hide it, and » to show it again.

  • Overview is your build checklist. The number beside it, like 40%, shows how much is done. See the list below.
  • Pages lists every page. Click a page to open it. Click the gear beside it for Page settings. A page marked DRAFT is not on your live site. Add a page is at the bottom of the list. Deleted pages shows up here when you have deleted one.
  • Content holds Sermons, Bible Classes and Blog Posts. The number beside each one is how many you have.
  • Your website holds Menus, Church info and Announcement banner. These change every page at once. The banner row says ON while the banner shows.
  • Your account holds People, Connect your domain, Add-ons and help, Site history and Site settings.

At the bottom of the panel, a card says Saved on our servers and whether your site is live. Its Site history link opens your saved versions. See Restore an earlier version of your site.

Click Overview to see the Website build checklist. Most items check themselves off as you go. Click Open beside an item to go do it.

  • Add your church info
  • Pick your colors
  • List your service times
  • Add your latest sermons
  • Replace the template’s sample names, quotes, and links
  • Make it yours: your words and photos. This is the one item you check off yourself. Click its circle when you feel ready.
  • Tell us the church’s own domain. This one is optional.
  • Publish your site

The Overview also shows your design and your web address. Add-ons and help lists the services we can do for you, such as moving your old content over, and has a button to book a call with us.

Click the question mark in the top bar. Two choices open:

  • Help center opens short guides inside the builder. Type in the search box, or pick a topic.
  • Talk to a person books a short call with someone at Project Go. Click Open the scheduling page to pick a time.

Click any words on the page and type. Click any photo to change it. Point at a section to see its buttons at the top right: the up and down arrows move it, the paint drop changes its Background, the eye hides it, and × deletes it. On a touch screen, these buttons always show.

The top bar has fewer buttons. Undo, Redo, History, Save, Colors, Preview and Help move into the Tools menu. The panel opens with the » button. See Build your site on a phone.

  • The top bar says “Not saved, trying again”: Your connection dropped. Keep the tab open. The builder keeps trying, and the bar says Saved when your change reaches our servers.
  • The top bar says “Viewing only”: Someone else is editing. See Take over editing from someone else.
  • You cannot find the panel on the left: Click » at the left edge of the screen.

Email info@project-go.com. Tell us your church name and what you tried.
