Publish your site
Publishing puts every published page, sermon, class and blog post on your live site. Publish again any time you make changes.
Who can do this: anyone who can edit the site, while they are the one editing. Your site also needs its website license.
- In the top bar, click Publish.
- If the window shows Your website license, your site does not have its license yet. The site’s Owner buys it first. Questions about the license? Email info@project-go.com.
- In the Publish your site window, click Publish site.
- If a question appears, read it and answer it. The questions are listed below.
- Wait about a minute.
The window says Your site is live: and shows your address. Your address is your church’s short name, then .projectgosites.com. For example, gracechurch.projectgosites.com.
Under Next steps, the window links to Connect your domain and Get found on Google. See Get found on Google.
These questions can appear:
- Sample content stays behind: Example sermons, classes and posts are left out of your live site. Click Publish my content, or click Let me clean up first.
- Legal pages: Your Privacy Policy, Terms and Accessibility pages go up in your church’s name. Read them. Change anything that is not true of your congregation. Then click I have read them and they are ours.
- Photos with no description: Click Publish anyway, or click Let me add them first.
- Some pages still say the template’s sample words: Click Publish anyway, or click Let me change them first.
If it does not work
Section titled “If it does not work”- “Fix these before the site goes live.” or “Before this goes live, add …”: The window lists what to fix. Most items have a button that opens the right place. Fix them, then click Publish site again. See Fix what stops a publish.
- It says someone is editing: Only the person editing can publish. See Take over editing from someone else.
- You closed the tab while publishing: Nothing on your live site changed. Open the builder and click Publish again.
On a phone
Section titled “On a phone”Publish stays in the top bar on a phone. The steps are the same.
Still stuck?
Section titled “Still stuck?”Email info@project-go.com. Tell us your church name and what you tried.
