Make someone else the Owner

Each site has one Owner. The Owner handles billing, the site’s address, domains and taking the site down. Hand the site on when you step down, or when someone else should take care of these.

Who can do this: the Owner. The new Owner must already be an Admin on the site.

  1. If the person is not on the site yet, invite them as an Admin and wait until they sign in. See Invite someone to help.
  2. If they are an Editor, change them to Admin first. See Change someone’s role or remove them.
  3. In the panel on the left, under Your account, click People.
  4. Click Make Owner beside the person’s name.
  5. Read the question. Click Make Owner.

A message says “… is the Owner now. You are an Admin.” Receipts and payment emails go to the new Owner from now on. The Owner and every Admin get an email about the change.

If the Owner has left and cannot be reached, nobody on the site can change the Owner. Email info@project-go.com from the church’s contact email address, or from an address that can edit the site. We will name a new Owner. The former Owner becomes an Admin.

  • You do not see Make Owner: Only the Owner sees it, and only beside an Admin. Make the person an Admin first.
  • “Make them an Admin first. Only an Admin can become the Owner.”: Change their role to Admin, then click Make Owner again.
  • “Only the site’s Owner can do that. The Owner can make you the Owner if you need to do it yourself.”: You are not the Owner. Ask the Owner to do it.

Email info@project-go.com. Tell us your church name and what you tried.
